A must read for all entrepreneurs and entrepreneur wannabes! Rarely do I get a book and read the whole book in the same day, but this one I did. I feel compelled to give you my review. First of all, as an entrepreneur myself, so much in this book resonates with me. His struggles and my struggles are intertwined. I think everyone who has followed the entrepreneurial path will relate to the challenges Mike so eloquently relates. There were parts of his book that hit so close to home that I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
I mean, did he have a window into my office or what? Everyone always believes their challenges to be exclusive to them. It winds up that many of us birthing businesses share very similar experiences as we struggle to grow our companies. I found that to be somewhat comforting and disconcerting at the same time. This book is a must read for anyone that has taken the “start your own business” journey and for anyone getting ready to embark on it. It isn’t a book that glorifies the process. It’s raw and honest. Mike shares his life lessons, victories, and defeats. He puts it all out there so we might learn from them.

A good read! And I am enjoying the podcasts!

Mike Konrad Kills It!
As a frequent consumer of audiobooks, I wouldn’t recommend for most authors to narrate their own book. Mike Konrad kills it. With his experience in media and his comfort with public speaking, it feels more like a well thought out monologue rather than a book being read aloud. If you enjoy listening to Mike on his podcast, you’ll enjoy hearing his insights straight from his mouth via the audiobook version.
Why l’m recommending The Reluctant Entrepreneur by Mike Konrad

I just grabbed Mike Konrad’s new book, The Reluctant Entrepreneur: Anatomy of a Business Startup From Uncertainty to Unstoppable, and it’s an absolute must read if you’re curious what entrepreneurship really looks like behind the scenes.

A brutally honest account of:
• Debunking the “being your own boss is glamorous” myth
• Navigating stakeholder demands (banks, vendors, employees and yes, even the weather)
• Surviving a lawsuit, embezzlement, funding dry spells and partnership breakups, learning that “success” isn’t a trophy it’s the personal growth you earn along the way.

From his immigrant parent origins (his father survived a German labor camp) to the roller-coaster of his first tech job, Mike’s journey reads like a behind the curtain director’s cut of real world business. If you’ve ever wondered how founders keep going after the lawsuit, the bookkeeping betrayal, or the funding dead ends this book shows you every gritty step.
